Energy Consumption on Mac Layer in Adhoc Networks

چکیده
A wireless ad-hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes that makes a multi hop autonomous system without any fixed infrastructure. The nodes use service of other nodes in the network to transmit packet to the destination nodes. Mobile device are battery operated and this is the limited resource. So the energy conservation is the critical issue in the network. There are many approach suggested for energy conservation. We have suggested two energy efficient techniques to reduce energy consumption at protocol level. In first techniques energy conservation done by reducing number of route request message while in the second techniques energy conservation done by power

Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Energy Consumption in S-MAC Protocol Using Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets
One of the features of wireless sensor networks is that the nodes in this network have limited power sources. Therefore, assessment of energy consumption in these networks is very important. What has been common practice has been the use of traditional simulators to evaluate the energy consumption of the nodes in these networks. Simulators often have problems such as fluctuating output values i...

متن کاملMulti Channel MAC Protocol Optimization for TDMA multimedia to improve efficiency in wireless Adhoc Networks
We use a solution to the scheduling Problem in clustered wireless Adhoc Networks (WAN). The objective is to provide network-wide optimized time division multiple access (TDMA) schedules that can achieve high power efficiency, zero conflict, and reduced end-to-end delay. To achieve this objective, we first build a nonlinear cross-layer optimization model involving the network, medium access cont...

Modern medium access control (MAC) protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSN) focus on energy-efficiency by switching a node’s radio on only when necessary. This intoduced rendezvous problem is gracefully handled by modern asynchronous approaches to WSN MAC’s, e.g. X-MAC, using strobed preambles. Nevertheless, most MAC layer ignore the possible benefits in energy consumption and end-toend lat...

In Wireless Ad hoc network, cooperation of nodes can be achieved by more interactions at higher protocol layers, particularly the MAC (Medium Access Control) and network layers play vital role. MAC facilitates a routing protocol based on position location of nodes at network layer specially known as Beacon-less geographic routing (BLGR) using Contention-based selection process. This paper propo...
